Zarate Should Sign - Ridgewell

Skipper Liam Ridgewell has urged Birmingham to sign young star Mauro Zarate on a permanent basis.

The £20million-rated loanee netted his fourth goal in as many games to rescue a point for The Blues against Everton on Saturday.

However, managing director Karren Brady recently revealed that the St. Andrews club would not be prepared to meet the asking price for the 21 year-old.

But Ridgewell believes that the Argentinian striker would make a great addition to Alex McLeish's squad. He told the Birmingham Mail:

'I hope he can stop here. We'd like to keep him. You can see when a great player is emerging. He has got a good touch and good skill and I am sure he will get even better.'

I like him. He has been impressive since you got him. You should certainly keep him.

Agree, is a good talent. His free-kick against Everton wasn't bad, would make a good signing.

Zarate is a quality player but he doesnt want to be playing championship football, which he will if you dont beat Blackburn.Maybe Stoke can get him

He has not exactly shot up the goal scoring charts, maybe the premiership is just a level to far for him.
