Carsley starts as captain

Lee Carsley will wear the captain`s armband next season due to the absence of Damien Johnson due to injury.

Carsley has already been captain in pre season and he has only been at the club since June.

'Carsley will start the season as captain,' Alex McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.

'Carsley has come in and I think he has got terrific leadership qualities, he has got the experience as well. He's the type of guy who will lead with relish.'

Good choice, he has obviously been doing a good job in the pre-season friendly games.
