Fletcher bid turned down

According to reports, Blues boss Alex McLeish has tried to land Scottish International Darren Fletcher from Manchester United on loan, but he was turned down.

Fletcher has worked under McLeish before when he was in charge of Scotland, but United are not interested in letting the 27 year old out on loan.

With Olivier Kapo and Fabrice Muamba both leaving St Andrews, the Blues boss is looking at ways to strengthen his midfield.

But United boss Alex Ferguson sees the midfielder as an important part of the Manchester United squad for next season.

If the reports are true then its not a bad choice, but United would never let him out on loan
