Boss can't hide disappointment

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish was disappointed that his side only came away from the clash with Wolves at the weekend with just a point.

Substitute Cameron Jerome took advantage of a poor headed clearance by defender Richard Stearman to fire past Wayne Hennessey early in the second half and it looked for a while that Blues would return home with all three points, but Sylvan Ebanks-Blake fired a 74th-minute equaliser and the clubs had to settle for a point each.

McLeish said: 'I'm disappointed we didn't get three points.'

He added: 'The way we played in the first half, especially. Wolves had a lot of the ball in the second half but we had a lot to contend with.

'(We showed) great spirit and determination. We got in front and could have been more in front by that time, and that always left Wolves with a lifeline.'
