Blues interest in Boyd confirmed

Rangers have confirmed that Birmingham have made an approach for striker Kris Boyd and he could end up at St Andrews in a £4million deal.

An initial bid of around £3million was rejected for the 25-year-old but they will accept an improved offer.

Alex McLeish is reportedly keen to get Boyd to boost his side's strikeforce at St Andrews.

Ibrox chairman Sir David Murray told BBC Scotland: 'Birmingham have made an enquiry. We talked about money but we haven't agreed a fee and no business will be done today.

'We rejected a bid of around £3million but if they improve it, we'll allow them to speak to Kris Boyd.'

Boyd has been Rangers' top scorer for three consecutive seasons, including the 2005-06 campaign, despite joining the club on January 1st.

The 25-year-old has scored 91 goals for the Ibrox side despite struggling to become a regular starter under Paul Le Guen and Walter Smith, he has netted 20 goals this term from a total of 20 starts and three substitute appearances.

Oh dear ,, oh dear !!! do you guys have any idea of the pile of pish you are about to be landed with ,, he is most probably in my top three of the laziest players that Ive ever had the misfortune to witness ,, he demands the ball to his feet and wont stretch an inch should it not be ,, he wont track back when possession is lost ,, he wont tackle full stop ,, and more importantly ,, he will not score against any of your nearest competitors ,, he only ever scored against the diddy teams in the SPL & I wouldn't hold my breath in anticipation of him firing you to dizzy heights if I were you ,, a total and absolute waste of money that could have been wisely invested elsewhere ........... Good Luck guys ....... you'll need it ........!!!!
