Could Sonko be the new defender?

Reports say that Blues boss Alex McLeish is interested in bringing Senegal international defender Ibrahima Sonko to St Andrews from Premiership Stoke City.

Blues are reported to have made an enquiry about the 28 year old as McLeish sees him as the perfect player to bolster his back line.

McLeish initially wanted to try and bring the player in on loan but Stoke boss Tony Pulis is only interested in a permanent deal for the man he signed from Reading in August for 2 million.
