Kelly set to become a Potter

Stoke hope to confirm the loan signing of Birmingham full-back Stephen Kelly later on today.

All the necessary paperwork was completed by the Potters before the 5pm transfer deadline, but Kelly was not able to get to Stoke on Trent to sign the deal because of the adverse weather conditions.

However the Football Association and Football League announced that clubs would be granted special dispensation if they had written proof that a deal was struck between the two clubs before the deadline.

Kelly will sign until the end of the season.
