Bowyer may be back at weekend

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is hoping that Lee Bowyer will be available for the game against Doncaster at the weekend.

The 32-year-old did not feature in Blues last outing at Barnsley because of a groin injury, which is hopefully not too serious.

The boss told the Birmingham Mail: 'We hope that he will be back for Saturday, he had a scan and there wasn't much on it.

'He has had a wee bit of back stiffness over the past few weeks and possibly it has come from that, so he is seeing his specialist in London and we hope that he comes back with good news towards the end of the week.

'The problem is up in his abductor, at the top of his groin.'
