Taylor appeal fails

Taylor appeal fails

Birmingham goalkeeper has had his appeal against the red card he picked up against Plymouth turned down, meaning he will miss the trip to Watford at the weekend.

Taylor saw red midway through the first half of the draw after catching Jamie Mackie, thus giving the visitors a penalty from which they took the lead.

Television replays proved the incident occurred outside the area, while Taylor also insisted he touched the ball.

However, a regulatory commission examined the evidence and failed to identify a serious error of judgement by referee Michael Oliver.
