Rumour .... Blues to look at Onyewu

Birmingham City are to look at American defender Oguchi Onyewu, it is believed that he has held talks with a number of clubs with Blues and Wolves both keen.

The Standard Liege defender is no stranger to English football having spent time on loan with Newcastle United in 2007.

Onyewu is available on a Bosman free transfer this summer and is keen to return to the Premier League.

Onyewu himself admits he is ready to take a chance and leave Standard for the bright lights of the Premiership.

'I'm ready to take that risk,' he admitted.

'It would not be the first time. When I arrived at Standard, I was third choice. Even at La Louviere (in 2003), I was not in the team.'

not sure he's Premier League class though!

I don't think he would be too bad, i would prefer him over Balde. Wheater would be ideal, but we will never pay the asking price.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea And Manchester City Look At Forlan - Report Diego Forlan's goalscoring exploits last term have earned him even more admirers... 16 Jul 2009 11:30:08 Forlan - Ernst - Atletico-Schalke 04 (PA) Photo Gallery Zoom Forlan - Ernst - Atletico-Schalke 04 (PA) Related Links Teams * Atletico Madrid Players * Diego Forlán Atletico de Madrid maybe insisting that they are not prepared to sell Diego Forlan, but they may soon have no choice as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City all moot meeting his buy-out clause, according to a report. The Uruguayan secured his second European Golden Boot last season and has seen his reputation grow - which has now begun to attract some of Europe's biggest and wealthiest clubs. With a buy-out clause of €36million, Forlan would be cheaper than several highly-prized forwards on the market and that has also helped lure more suitors, AS state. Barca have earmarked the former Manchester United striker as a back-up if they cannot persuade Valencia to part company with David Villa, and could make an approach if they continue to be frustrated by Los Che. Real Madrid may have a litany of goalscorers, but they are retaining an interest despite being told by Los Colchoneros that they would only swap Forlan for Gonzalo Higuain. While that idea has been ruled out by Madrid, Manchester City are still in the market for a striker after pulling out of a move for Samuel Eto'o, and Chelsea are also linked. Lucas Brown, Goal.com
