Rumour: Blues interested in Derby duo?

If the newspapers are to be believed then Alex McLeish has lined up a 6m double raid on Derby for Kris Commons and Giles Barnes.

The Daily Mirror reports that McLeish is willing to shell out 4 million for Commons to bring him to the Premiership, but Wigan are also said to be interested.

Midfielder Barnes has been at Fulham for the last four months on a loan deal and he is expected to carry a price tag of 2 million.

I have always rated Barnes to be a good player, but he kind of fell of the radar a bit, and I did not get to see much of him at Fulham. Commons is a solid player, and think he will fit in well if we get him. But seem to be going for a lot of players without premiere league experience. Has anyone heard anything on a striker coming in? I think we will need a double digit goal scorer if we are going to have a chance of staying up. Phillips lead with 15, then Jerome with 9. We are going to need more.
