Dann becomes a Birmingham man

Birmingham have signed Coventry centre back Scott Dann for an undisclosed fee, beating rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers to his signature.

The fee for the 22 year old has been described as a club record for a defender.

Dann began his career with Walsall before moving to Coventry in January 2008, playing 49 times for the Sky Blues last season and scoring four goals. One of those goals was the winner for Coventry against Birmingham at the Ricoh Arena.

Dann joins fellow new boy Christian Benítez and Stephen Carr, who has signed a permanent deal after impressing on loan last season at Birmingham. Ecuador international striker Benítez was signed for a club record fee from the Mexican club Santos Laguna.

Good signing, this. City have been told we have to go to £20M at least to tempt Everton to sell Lescott. If this guy lives up to his promise you can't go wrong can you?
