'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McLeish waits onTraore news

Birmingham hope to find out in the next 48 hours whether Arsenal will allow them to sign defender Armand Traore on loan.

Blues boss Alex McLeish wants to end a problem he has with the left back position with David Murphy and Franck Queudrue currently not fit.

Stuart Parnaby has been covering during the majority of pre-season.

McLeish said: 'I don't want to upset Arsene Wenger by speaking (about Traore). I also see he has got a couple of injuries himself, like Gael Clichy, so I hope that's not ominous.

'We've got other targets but we want to bring in a bit of quality for the position.

'It's not a bottomless pit in terms of the money and we'd try to structure a deal on maybe a loan.

'I'm not talking necessarily about Traore, there are one or two options. It's better that I don't talk about other people's players at the moment.

'All that does is upset the Birmingham fans when we don't get them.'

merlin
***** off Merlin .. take your money and go back to Roman... It wasn't that long ago that Matthew Harding kept you up on the cheap !!.. anyway why I came here .. Armand is a cracking player and I was quuite gutted that Pomepy couldn't keepo him last year. A bit suspect defeding at tiem but as an overlapping left wing back I've not seen many better kids.. Finnan and Cole are good now but where not as good as Armand at his age.. He's a cracking loan signing as long as used correctly.. ,, Good luck for the season fella .. Hope you stuff every other team in blue.. except Pompey of course !
