McLeish keen on Gijon midfielder

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish got a good look at his next target Michel when his side played out a goal less draw with Sporting Gijon on Saturday.

The 23 year old midfielder impressed throughout the game and now the Blues boss is keen to get the player signed up, should he be able to get the board to release the cash.

He told the Birmingham Mail: 'I thought he was very comfortable, he's an elegant player with great athleticism.

'We are just going to have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of days. I will have to speak to the chairman and the board to see what the finances are.

'Michel is obviously a guy we like, the same as other guys also.

'I know I have to make my mind up on him, but it also depends on what Sporting are asking.'

I am a city fan from Vital Man City. Just wondering how you rate Joe Hart or have you not seen much of him yet in Pre-season games. He has just been called up into the england squad by the way

I saw im in the Under 21s and he was brilliant, got a good head, quick thinker. Him and Taylor should be a pair of good lads for us this season
