'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Super Kev Believes

Whilst at Wast hills today continuing preparation for United, this coming Sunday, Goal King Kevin Phillips invested his belief in the blues team.

Surprising Wolves haven't been placed in the bottom three, making up those three relegated spots are Blues, Hull and Burnley.

Talking to the Birmingham Mail Phillips said: "We`ve got the players here, look at the names. "I`m sure the manager is looking at another couple of additions as well, and I think he needs that.

"We`ve definitely got the players it`s just about trying to find that formation, that consistency, and settling down, which I`m sure will happen.

"For me, the first game of the season is a good start for us. Everyone says 'ohh, Manchester United away` but I`d rather it be that than Wolves at home because the pressure would then be straight on you.

"We go to Old Trafford and there`s no pressure on us, no-one is going to give us hope in hell`s chance. Newcastle went there last year and nicked a 1-1 draw, Reading the year before as well.

"It`s a good start for us then we follow it up with two home games.

Let`s not get carried away by pre-season, we know the results haven`t been great. But there`s a lot of work we are doing, and it`s a long season."
