Strike Duo Go On Transfer List

Birmingham City have put Marcus Bent and Gary McSheffrey can leave Birmingham as Blues look to balance the books and sign Michel from Sporting Gijon.

St Andrew's boss Alex McLeish has been backed well by the board this summer as he has spent somewhere within the region of £20 million, Christian Benitez, Roger Johnson, Scott Dann and Barry Ferguson among those arriving at the club.

Gijon midfielder Michel is being chased by the Birmingham boss who must now trim down his squad by getting rid of fringe players.

He told the Birmingham Mail: 'I have spoken to Gary and Marcus and said that, by having to bring players in, we have to make sacrifices.

'We've told them that we will listen to offers.'
