McLeish Gets The Thumbs Up

After holding a meeting with Birmingham manager Alex McLeish this week, Carson Yeung's representatives have given the Blues boss the big thumbs up, meaning he could be with us for some time

Vico Hui, Sammy Yu and Peter Pannu met with McLeish, took in the Birmingham City facilities at the ground, then took a good look at the clubs training facilities. And at the end they declared McLeish as a "down to earth" person.

And his immediate target is to keep Blues away from the drop zone this season as they see Premiership survival as the upmost importance, but there is also a warning that the spending that has been going on at Manchester City won`t be coming to St Andrews

Pannu told the Birmingham Mail: 'We spoke at length to Alex, his coaches, and met his staff. We had a cup of tea with Alex and had a nice discussion. He came across as extremely down to earth and very knowledgeable.'

'He told us that he had been looking forward to the takeover and had already been planning how we could improve the team. He has got his list together of players.'
