Gardner Move Closer After Fee Agreed

Birmingham City have agreed a fee for Aston Villa midfielder Craig Gardner.

Word had it that boss Alex McLeish had a bid of 3 million turned down for the player not long ago, but reports now say the player is due at St Andrews next week.

Gardner has been frustrated with the lack of regular first team football at Villa Park of late and is now said to be looking for a move across the city.

The deal should go ahead subject to a medical and the two parties agreeing personal terms.
