Pavlyuchenko Interest Ends

It just may be that Blues manager Alex McLeish will not be renewing his interest in Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko in the summer.

Pavlyuchenko was on McLeish`s shopping list during the January Transfer Window, at the time he wasn`t doing much at White Hart Lane. The player wanted regular football and Spurs were willing to listen to decent offers.

But a move never came about and now Pavlyuchenko is doing well in the Tottenham side meaning that should Spurs want to sell in the summer, the price would be beyond Birmingham`s reach.

McLeish admitted it would now be difficult to afford Pavlyuchenko in the wake of his performances over the past few weeks.

'His price will have gone up,' McLeish said in the Daily Mirror.

'I've given him too much confidence by saying I wanted him.'
