Birmingham Knew What To Bid

Birmingham City have confirmed that they have had a bid for Cardiff City striker Cameron Jerome rejected.

Steve Bruce told Sky Sports News 'It's never been my slant to say what we have and what we haven't done, but there has been a bid for the striker at Cardiff. Unfortunately, it's been knocked back. I'm sure the representatives of both clubs will get together and see if there is a deal to be done.'

The 19-year-old England Under-21 star, who scored 20 goals in 47 appearances for the Bluebirds last season, is also a target for local rivals West Bromwich Albion and Premiership new boys Sheffield United.
The hot shots agent, Tony Finnigan, told BBC Sport:

'Andy Gray and I, Cameron's advisers, sat down with the Birmingham and Cardiff hierarchies and agreed what the price would be. It was very clear, everyone agreed and Birmingham know what they have to do. This has been going on for two weeks now but everyone knows what is needed and it is simple really.'

Adding:

'Cardiff have to sell, I guess, because they want a new stadium so they have put him up for sale. Sheffield United had a £2.4million bid rejected three weeks ago and I know there are a few others interested, West Brom included. The thing is, if someone asks you for £3 for something and you offer them £2.80, if you are lucky they might agree to sell. Cameron is just a 19-year-old who wants to further his career and better himself and that is the most important thing.'

i think he's very over rated , never worth over 3m

Not sure how he can be over-rated, he is only 19, he is still learning his trade but do agree £3m is very steep, to pay more would be a massive gamble.
