Fine, But No Ban For Johnson

Birmingham's Roger Johnson has escaped a ban after blowing up at Aston Villa referee Martin Atkinson following the derby game.

Johnson lost his temper after a penalty was awarded to Villa after the defender made a perfectly fair tackle on Gabriela Agbonlahor, or whatever her name is.

Johnson said after the game: 'The referee was a disgrace. He's ruined the match and clearly shouldn't be doing these kind of games - it was too big for him.'

The 27 year old did however pick up a warning about his future conduct and a fine of 7,500.

In my opinion he should not only have been fined, but banned for a minimum of 5 games and have paid for the blood to be washed out of Agbonlahor's clothes after such a dreadful tackle

He should have been congratulated on a fine bit of football. Hope he takes his head off next time.
