McLeish Seals Zigic Deal

McLeish Seals Zigic Deal

Birmingham City have won the race to sign 6` 8" striker Nikola Zigic after the player passed a medical at St Andrews.

The Serbian has agreed a four year deal with Blues and will cost the club something in the region of £6 million.

Everton, Fulham, Stoke and Sunderland were all in the race for the striker but Birmingham came out top as manager Alex McLeish sets about strengthening his side ready for next season`s assault on the Premiership.

The former Red Star Belgrade striker has been tipped by Serbian coach Raddy Antic to be a star in the forthcoming World Cup in South Africa and McLeish wanted to tie up a deal before any possibility of his price going through the roof during the competition.

This signals Blues intent to try and do better next season than what they did this time around. Not that we did bad at all.
