Wigan Join Chase For Blues striker?

Wigan Athletic, according to various reports in the press this morning, will join Blackburn in attempting to lure Birmingham City striker Emile Heskey away from St Andrews.

Blackburn's boss Mark Hughes has been linked several times with reports suggesting he will test the water with a bid of 3.5million.

The papers this morning say that Paul Jewell will try to beat Blackburn to the punch and take Heskey (scorer of four goals last season) to play for the Latics after they missed out on the signing of Andrew Johnson from Crystal Palace. Wigan bid 8.5million for the former Blues striker but AJ chose Everton instead.

A report in The Sun claims that Jason Roberts might be made available by the Latics.

Only if there are no bids for him. If a Prem team come in for him I'd expect him to leave.
