'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McSheffrey Determined To Find His Old Form At Cov

Gary McSheffrey has spoken about how he intends to do well when he returns to Coventry City at the end of the month.

The 27 year old returns to his hometown where he hailed as the club`s top scorer for three seasons on the bounce before he moved to St Andrews in 2006.

McSheffrey initially did well with Blues when he first arrived, but injury problems meant that he lost his place in the first team and now looks to resurrect his career at the Ricoh Arena.

The striker said: 'Knowing what the club means to me I would not be coming back if I felt I would be letting anyone down.

'It has been a frustrating time but you go through these spells in your career. I have missed a lot through injury but then Birmingham were going through a quite awesome season and I was on the bench.

'I am looking forward to the opportunity of playing games and I come back here with 40-odd Premiership games and two promotions under my belt. That is all in the past and I am looking forward to my future here at Coventry. I feel fresh and am determined to do well here.'
