Blues Looking To Sign World Cup Hero?

Looking through the newspaper sites this morning I notice Blues are being linked with an unlikely target, Italian World Cup winner Fabio Grosso.

The Mail are running the story and if it is to be believed, manager Alex McLeish will be looking to land the 32 year old full back on a season long loan from Juventus.

The defender was at Lyon but moved to Juve last summer, since then he has fallen out of favour and City are said to be willing to offer him the chance of resurrecting his career in England.

But one stumbling block would be the player`s high wages, Blues would have to work something out with Juve before a move could go ahead.

Grosso is the man who scored the World Cup final winner from the penalty spot as Italy beat France at the 2006 finals.

I dont think he is too old at 32, I think he'll be experienced enough to show the rest of the defenders a thing or two. Cant see the deal coming off though anyway
