McLeish Optimistic Of Securing Striker Signature

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is optimistic of getting the signature of AZ Alkmaar striker Moussa Dembele before West Brom.

The midland rivals both want the striker, but after talks with the players agent, McLeish feels that the deal could well be in the bag.

5 million is said to be the asking price and if Blues manage to land the player, they will have spent 17 million so far as they prepare to better last season`s impressive finish in the Premier League.

McLeish said: 'I had good vibes from the agent when I met him.

'Dembele is a quality player but I never like talking about potential signings until the deal is done.'
