Blues Will Bounce Back

Former Blue's general manager John Benson has backed Blues to bounce straight back up following the 'hurt' of relegation.

He said, in a report by Colin Tattum in the Mail,

'Relegation hurt everybody, and I know Steve and his staff will not again make the mistakes we all made last season. There a huge determination to put it right. Steve's really gone to town and sat down with everybody and thought about what needs to be done very thoroughly.Knowing what's been discussed, the way they are going to go about things, and the players he's after, I fancy Birmingham.'

He's also going to put his hands in his pocket with a little punt,
'I'm going to have a little bet on them to get promotion. It won't be easy, no-one is under any illusions, but I've got this feeling they'll have a very good chance. Of course, the club must back Steve and go for it, and I'm not talking about spending £10million-£15million. They just need to get behind him and help him as much as they can.'

He says that Bruce has got us promotion before and believes he can get it us again, hopefully at the first time of asking.

Benson continued: 'Steve got Birmingham promotion before, and he's done well with other clubs in that division. He knows what it takes.

'Last season was a massive disappointment, not least for Steve, who was very hurt. But he will bounce back stronger and I know he's desperate to get Birmingham back into the Premiership.'

Our latest poll asks if we can gain promotion at the first time of asking.

I think we'll get promotion but not the easy way instead they will make us suffer right up until injury time in the play offs.
