Blues - Weir Within 48 Hours?

According to a reports in the Birmingham Mail Blues are hoping to sign Everton defender David Weir in the next 48 hours.

Steve Bruce is re-building the defence for the forthcoming 2006/7 season and has already agreed a fee for 22-year-old Spurs right-back (PUT LINK) Stephen Kelly

Now he is looking for the free siging of experienced toffee, 36-year-old Scottish international Weir who is available on a free transfer.

Weir has also spoken with Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion.

Bruce is also reportedly still interested in Spurs centre-half Calum Davenport but also wants to inject some leadership and experience into the team.
