Heskey's Wages A Problem

Wigan's assistant manager is back in the press again talking about Emile Heskey, this time stating that his wages could be a problem if they ever decide to stop talking and actually make a proper bid.

Chris Hutchings said: 'We are interested in Heskey but so are Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth as well so it depends on how much the player wants.

'We are not going to overpay in the market but if you don't do that, sometimes you might not get the players.'

This raises an interesting question, if Wigan offered Jason Roberts and some cash as is believed and Blues said go away - how would they know how much Heskey was asking for?

I dont think Wigan would get anything from Heskey. He had a terrible season with Birmingham - so why would Wigan need/want him?

he's past his best now, and i cant see u lot seeling him for 5 million. if he stays he will be a handfull in the championship next season

I'm bored of the situation now, press today say that the wages aren't a problem but both clubs are at loggerheads over the fee. If we really think we'll get £5million for him then I'm amazed.

Looks like wigan are getting cold feet to me. Surely they've got to have a reasonable idea that heskey would be one of the highest wage earners at Brum.
