Get The Dann Thing Over With

The transfer of Neil Danns from Colchester to Blues is on hold whilst the two clubs argue over how the £600,000 fee should be paid.

Danns wants to join Blues and the club have been in negotiations with Colchester since the end of last season over the proposed £600,000 move. No headway has been made as the clubs cannot agree on how to pay the fee and fears are rising that a tribunal may be called to sort the matter out.

To complicate things further, Danns agent Tony Finnigan has also revealed that three rival Championship sides are waiting in the wings to snap up the goalscoring midfielder.

'I'm waiting for everything to be concluded, but I'm not sure what's happening.

'This has been going on for a while and it needs to get sorted out. Neil would love to play for Birmingham and I hope he goes there, that would be fine.

'But there are three other clubs in the same league who also want him, so whatever is holding it up needs to be finalised.'

Danns scored 16 goals last term, effectively securing Colchester's promotion and is considered a very hot prospect with a bright future ahead of him.

My good mate who is a keen U's fan thinks Colchester are rubbing their hands with the size of the fee. Steve Bruce - whatever next?

It's quite a big fee for a lower league player! It's always a risk buying a player, and knowing they're be able to handle a higher league, and for that price! Birmingham are going over the top with that fee!

At least we are now looking at younger players to build for the future but I do agree, that is a high fee.

TBH richy23, 600,000 isn't really very much these days is it? Especially when the buying club have been paying millions for players and they are buying to get back into the premiership.
