Zigic Says No Truth In Lisbon Speculation

Birmingham striker Nikola Zigic has said there is no truth in the speculation that he is leaving St Andrews to join Sporting Lisbon.

Zigic has found it difficult to command a first team place since his move from Valencia in the summer, but he hit his first Premier League goal for Blues last weekend at Arsenal and that should give the player a masssive boost.

But as for moving, he said: 'I was aware of the speculation about Sporting Lisbon and I found it quite amusing.'

He continued: 'But really I am a Birmingham player. I enjoy being here. I am certainly going to try my best for the club and something I want to do is progress my career here.

'You always get some speculation from other clubs and what have you.

'But I am a Birmingham player, I signed a contract in the summer, I enjoy playing with the boys, we are a good squad and I'm more than happy being here.'
