Striker Will Be Boosted Says McLeish

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish believes striker Nikola Zigic can move on to better things at St Andrews after receiving the boost of scoring his second goal in as many games on Saturday.

The Serb fired home the goal that made sure of victory over Blackpool at the weekend, it was Blues first victory in seven and a good goal to add to his collection that he started last week at Arsenal.

The boss said: 'Goals give strikers confidence and this will have been another big boost for the big fellow.

'He has taken time to adjust to the English style of play but we are now starting to see some sharpness from everyone in the front areas - including Nikola.

'As well as scoring goals himself he will also create chances for others and Nikola and Garry O'Connor did well together up front.'
