Gap Closing Says Blues Midfielder

Gap Closing Says Blues Midfielder

Barry Ferguson spoke out about the Blues-Villa situation after last night`s easy win over our bitter rivals, stating that the gap between the two clubs is now closing.

What made the victory sweeter was the fact that the winning goal came from Nikola Zigic who has been at the target of some p***taking from certain Villa fans.

Zigic scored late on to send Blues into the semi finals of the Carling Cup, leaving Villa and their fans to dream of what might have been.

Ferguson said: 'The manager is building a new team, brought a few new players in the summer, and they're settling in really well. I can see we're starting to close the gap on Aston Villa, certainly.'

He added: 'I'm just delighted we've won, we're in a semi-final now, and you never know what might happen now.

'We've shown that mentality all season where the guys never lie down and thankfully we got the victory.

'Villa had a few chances but we always felt confident we could get one.'

haha closing the gap my arse, the only thing thats happened i us losing the majority of our players, wen we get them back then he can comment on how far the gap is between villa and blues especially wen we stuff u in january as we'll have all our players back. and even without them we still outplayed u for the majority bt a penalty and a fluke of a goal got u the win against a very weekened villa team. can only see a 3-0 win next month wen we get our villa players back as with a very physical central midfielder back u have no chance or creating anythink as u simply are ***** in attack and all u have is defence and u win games by flukes and huge mistakes by the oppsosition which would not happen with a fully strengthed villa side

Of course by turning down Englands bid to host the World Cup in 2018, it denies Blues fans yet another opportunity to smash up the toilets at vile park
