Blues Face Competition For Davenport

Blues Face Competition For Davenport

Reports today suggest Birmingham City have competition in their quest to sign a second Spurs defender.

Blues have bid £900 000 for Calum Davenport to link up with Steven Davis but now West Bromwich Albion have tabled a bid of £1.3million.

Reading and Norwich have also been linked to the 23-year-old.

Lets face it though, these days it isn't always how much is bid but where the player wants to move to, they hold a lot of the power now. I would certainly like to see him come to St Andrews, I've been really happy to see that we are now going for young talent who won't just help this coming season, they will build a decent squad for years to come.

He is quality and you would do well to get him. You need to fight WBA all the way for this one. They have the same idea as you, to get straight back in the premiership. They will be tough competition for you next season and you need to sign Davenport before they do.
