Boothroyd Bid Coming Soon?

There are reports that Birmingham City are about to renew their interest in Cardiff striker Jay Boothroyd as Alex McLeish tries to pull his side away from the Premier league trap door.

Blues need a striker who can turn chances into goals and the manager needs him quick as speculation around the club is that his time could be close to being up unless he produces results.

A 5-0 hammering at Old Trafford at the weekend didn`t help matters, Blues are now sat in 17th place in the table, just a point away from the bottom three.

Reports suggest that big Eck will be placing an increased offer for Boothroyd on the table for Cardiff to mull over.

McLeish appears desperate to strengthen his strike force in the transfer window, having told veteran forward Kevin Phillips he can go.
