Phillips Seeks More Chances

After scoring a beauty of a goal on Saturday against Bolton Wanderers, Kevin Phillips is hoping for more starts to give him the chance of getting a few more.

Phillips has only started three games so far this season, but in each he has managed to find the net and Blues could certainly use his input in games if he is in the mood to keep that up.

His latest effort gave Birmingham hope of getting to Wembley for a second time this season when he made the score 2-2 at St Andrews against the Trotters in the FA Cup.

But that hope was short lived as Lee Chung-yong's late winner to send Bolton into the last four.

The 37-year-old said: 'That's three starts and three goals this season, you can't argue with that!

'You'll have to ask the manager if I deserve more games - all I can do is try and do well when I am given the chance.

'I really enjoyed the game, I felt I was getting stronger as it went on.'
