Hleb Back In Contention For Place In Side

Alexander Hleb is looking forward to getting back into the action for Birmingham City after being given the go ahead to return from injury.

Hleb picked up a knee injury in the game against Sheffield Wednesday back in February which at the time came as a massive blow to the player as it meant he could not face his old club Arsenal at Wembley.

But now he is fit enough to travel with the squad to Ewood Park on Saturday when City take on Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking to the Press Association, manager Alex McLeish said: 'Alex is a terrific player and he's got the ability to make a difference and be a game-breaker, game -changer if you like.

'It's good to welcome players back and have them in the fold and it's a selection problem for me - but it's one I'd rather have.

'He was excellent in that cup game against Sheffield Wednesday and that's sadly when he got the injury."
