Blues Chasing David Thompson

Reports today suggest that Birmingham have joined Albion in the chase for former England international David Thompson.

The 29 year old midfielder, formerly of Coventry, Blackburn, and Liverpool, was called into Eriksson's squad twice and ended last season with Wigan Athletic.

It is believed that Blues' interest only stretches as far as a possible replacement should Liverpool make an offer we can't turn down for Pennant.

i think we dont need him as long as we hold onto pennant and if pennant was to leave i dont think he would be the right man to fill the number 7 shirt

Certainly a player that would add some "bite" to the midfield after Butt's departure.
