Blues Eyeing Up Barton?

Blues Eyeing Up Barton?

Birmingham are lining up a summer move for Newcastle wild man Joey Barton, that`s if you believe the reports in the newspapers.

Barton is still wanted by Newcastle who have put a new deal on the table, but the former Man City player is not committing himself just yet.

Barton wants to see that the club's ambitions match his own following the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool in the January transfer window and that means waiting to see who Pardew brings into the club during the summer transfer window.

The Sunday Mirror claim the Blues are waiting to pounce if the Magpies decided to cash in on Barton even though Pardew is keen for him to stay.

The Magpies boss said: 'We want Joey Barton to stay at Newcastle and we are still talking. But the issue of a new contract is still outstanding.'
