Bruce Tests Blues With Gardner Enquiry

While all the commotion about Alex McLeish rages on, Blues it seems, have been getting on with the normal running of the club as reports come it that Sunderland have asked about Craig Gardner.

Steve Bruce is thinking that an offer of £5million for last season`s top scorer would be enough to tempt powers that be at the club to let him go as they look to rebuilding the squad for a hard season battling for promotion back to the Prem.

It`s no secret that Bruce has been interested in the 24 year old and now that he has the cash, it seems he is ready to put his fiendish plan to take one of, if not the best player from St Andrews.

There is no doubt in my mind that the player could fetch quite a bit more, but whether Blues have the time to hold out for a better offer, when it comes is anyone`s guess, but books need balancing.

The most likely outcome is that City will hang fire until a new manager is appointed and then take it from there.
