'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Right, He's Going To Villa. Lets Forget Him Now

Well I must admit that when all this lot started about McLeish, I did not believe for one minute that Villa would really sign the ginger haired one, but now it`s just a matter of when they make the move official.

I think it`s safe to say that most Blues fans wish Villa and McLeish the same fate that Blues suffered last season for a second time under McLeish. Let`s face it, things were not good. Boring football, no goals, strange formations and starting line ups. But hey, we won a Carling Cup and oh how I would like to shove that where it would hurt McLeish without KY.

Personally, I don`t care that he is going to Villa, but I fall short of finding it funny because these things tend to come back and bite you on the bum, can you imagine if he finished the season with Villa in the dizzy heights of the top half of the table? Villa fans would be dancing in the streets, and telling us how they knew he would come good all along.

I`m more pee`d off at the way he disrespected the club who stuck by him by sending in an email, and yes I know there is the theory that McLeish was forced into going by the club and all this has been twisted to make him look the bad man, but I`m not having that.

My advice to Villa fans, for what it`s worth, would be to stop the protests and get on with giving the man support and that is the same advice that I would be giving Blues fans should the situation have been reversed. My advice to Bluenoses is now forget about McLeish, wash our hands of him and forget he was ever here, until we play Villa again.

And that day would be here sooner rather than later if the right man is appointed to the Blues hot seat. Personally I prefer that man to be Chris Hughton who I believe would be a man in his element if he came to St Andrews and that can only lead to him performing his best with our great support behind him.

That`s it, I won`t mention him again

Fairplay mate - good article and I agree with the points you've made

I'm a Villa fan, and I agree with you. Biggest problem of most Villa and Blues fans is that they moan like it's going out of fashion. It pi$$es me right off. Situation is what it is - let's all just deal with it. You won a trophy last year so considering your history you should revere the man. Our board have decided he is the right man for the job, and if he wants it, they we should back them both. End of.

Likewise as a Villa fan the moaning is doing my head in. We all know that when it comes to the football field we hate each other and wish each other the worse luck! But I am happy to go to work with and be friends with Blues fans the next day, because at the end of the day, football for me is about entertainment. The tribal element, is dated now, and although its fun sometimes, it doesnt warrant the sort of vitriol and abuse that has come from some fans this week!

Good article, but what if he brings Foster, Dann and Johnson with him? The ***** hasn't even got near the fan yet!

I think this is the first time in a long long time that both Villa and Blues fans are united in distaste. You ********s better get promoted first try so we can pay you back for the cup tie the following season ;)
monsters
He could well take Foster, I think he will in fact. But thats because Foster wants to go and that would be the best move for him. You wont get in the England team from the Championship.

i expect Mcfadden to go also and the entire Mcleish backroom staff and others. I don't think Fahey is good enough either and hasn't been since day one. Murphy will also leave i think. I also expect Gardner, Zigic, Johnson, Possibly Dann and Foster to also go. This is the problem with getting relegated and also affects any potential manager who would want to know before coming here who is potentially to leave.
Mr Parker
Cheers for the genuine article. This whole thing leaves a sour taste, but we have to just get behind the Villa boss. Also, on the point about Foster, he might join Villa with a view to playing for England, but as we've seen so often, he'll be off shortly after that. Anyway. UTV

I would take Foster and Dann if we end up with Mcleish - but please no more!

Still can't believe it, it's mad. What a reception he'll get at St Andrews when you get back up. There again, it probably won't happen because we'll go down at the same time. Good luck guys.

A really good article, that. Intelligent 'Noses hey, I knew there must have been more than just a couple of my mates! ;-)

In time Big Eck will be remembered for bringing glory to St Andrews by winning the Carling Cup. This is his legacy and we should be grateful. Unfortunately he falls short of being the "Legend" he undoubtedly would have been by his recent conduct. Villa fans are also rightly suspicious of his move. will this be just another stepping stone?...what if a bigger club come in for him ..offering more money, another step higher on the career ladder. I think we have seen his true colours here.. We can now look forward with some prospect of having a manager who will want to get his team to play the game the way it should be played, and hopefully patience to build a young team for long term success: Villa, however, now have a self interested manager where the need to get results will dictate the stale style of football that we have had to endure...probably based on the spine of current blues team plus "names" at the backend of their careers..i know where i prefer to be...bring it on.
mr blue sky
Villa and Blues fans in agreement? Bloody hell, that's a first! It's going to happen, so we better get used to it. Decent Manager IMO, but not what we really wanted ( I wonder what the problem was with Hughes?)...Still Villa fans MUST get behind him, and likewise Bluenoses behind however their new boss is..Don't think there will be a drink and a chat at Boardroom level imminent though!

Villa Fan in peace..... good article!.. Have to say, I think Houghton would be a great choice for you lot, never really got a fair crack of the whip, something to prove and sheeeeite loads of experience! Not sure about us having McLeish, but I will give him the benefit of doubt. Good luck to you guys next season, hope you bounce straight back up so we have many a midlands derby!! And apologies for small minded fans that you see on TV.. calling your club scum-i know it goes both ways but its football, and Im one of a very few who like all our local teams in the big time..LOndons boroughs have had it too easy for soo long, the more of us there is-the better IMO!

I`m marching on my own to the ground on saturday to demand some answers from the board.I want to know if we have got any cash, are we near to administration, why are best players being sold only to be replaced by freebies, will we ever employ a manager,is the ground being developed etc.I bet i get on Central news, look out for me.
marky bcfc
agreed snorts, the time for anger is over for now, support and see what happens. Must admit when I first did quotes in the press I said this was an impossibility, now I just think the bloke has balls of steel and hope he wins the doubters over. Chris Hughton for you guys, good decent manager treated terribly at Newcastle.
