'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bruce Feeling Refreshed

Steve Bruce has spoken of the refreshed feeling in the camp following last seasons diabolical campaign.

Speaking to the local press following Blues winning all 5 pre season friendlies so far, he said:

'It's been a breath of fresh air for me.

'Last year really disappointed me for various reasons, but this group have reinvigorated me.

'They've gone away to Spain for 10-11 days, worked their socks off -they really have worked hard -hardly had any time off and never once complained.

'And the biggest thing is, as we have seen so far, all of a sudden we look as if we have got a bit pace and youth and energy about us. There's a freshness and eagerness there. It's how we used to be.'

Bruce is clearly pointing towards some players and their attitudes no doubt, who are no longer at the club and passing some blame onto them for how bad the dressing room had become, judging by performances.

Bruce still has a lot to prove to fans now, with the majority still wanting him out. A good start to the season will go along way to repairing bridges.
