Guthrie To Be Hughton's First Target?

Chris Hughton has only been in the Blues hot seat for a few hours and the papers have him linked to a player already.

Newcastle United`s Danny Guthrie is the name being linked to Hughton, the Daily Star amongst others saying that the new Blues boss will raid his old club Newcastle.

£1million seems to be the amount that would bring Guthrie to St Andrews to team up once more with Hughton who yesterday signed a 12 month rolling contract and was given the task of bringing Premier League football back to St Andrews.

52 year old Hughton said: "We are going into an extremely competitive Championship and, with the players set to return for pre-season training soon, I need to get into the job straight away. I`m really relishing it.

"For as long as I`ve been in football the name Birmingham City has been right up there. It is what I regard as a real football club with passionate supporters."
