Liverpool Circling For Pennant?

Loyalty in football, whatever next?

Jermaine Pennant has told the Birmingham Mail that he is committed to Birmingham City despite reports that Liverpool had a £3.5million bid rejected but are due to return with more of that filthy luca.

With Blues selling so called 'striker' for an amazing £5.5million to Wigan, Paul Jewell, what were you thinking, we really shouldn't need to be tempted with any bid as long as we can keep the young winger happy and motivated to push us back into the Premiership.

According to Colin Tattum of the Mail, there is an £8million price tag on Pennant, a price designed to keep bids away.

Pennant told the Birmingham Mail: 'I still have two years left on my contract and Birmingham have said nothing to me about whether they want to let me go or they have agreed anything with another club. And Liverpool haven't contacted me, so that's it.

'I am taking every day as it comes as a Birmingham player. All the speculation and stuff doesn't bother me. If no-one actually says anything to me, then I ignore it.

'Like I said, I'm still here and I'm looking forward to the start of the season. No-one likes to get relegated. And we shouldn't have gone down, everyone knows that.'

From a players point of view it is a tough call, but not many do turn down the chance to move to Anfield if the opportunity arises, lets hope he see's out next season for us as he could play a pivotal role. At least we know, together with the Heskey money, that our board will re-invest in the team if we do lose the player.

Hope he doesn't go anywhere. He seems to have finally settled down, and I don't think moving to another club will help him, no matter what club it is

Let's see how committed he is if they make him an offer.
