Danns Worth The Wait

Neil Danns has said that moving to Blues was worth the wait.

Steve Bruce noticed Danns when he was playing alongside Alex, at Blackburn Rovers and apparently toyed with the idea of making a move for him back then.

Alex Bruce, has also called him Blues' answer to Nigel Reo-Coker.

'Reo-Coker is not a bad comparison, I will take it.

'He's established himself and was on standby for England in the World Cup before he got injured. He got to the Premiership with West Ham, which is where I want to get back to and, who knows?, maybe I could push for England one day.

'Although, I do reckon I'm a better goalscorer than him!'

'When I was a young player in the Academy I was in the same team as Alex and he would watch me.

'But it would have been a massive gamble for him to take a player out of Blackburn's reserves and put him in his first team, which is what the situation would have been then.

'I had made a little name for myself at Blackburn but I knew I had to go somewhere to play regularly and prove to myself and everyone else that I could do it.

'Colchester made a bid for me and I decided to go there. I felt comfortable at the club, although it was a step into unknown territory really, and it was a drop down.

'But I knew if I worked hard and focused on my football I would get my reward, which I did with a big move to Birmingham.

'When I was out of contract at Colchester, I had a little thought in the back of my mind that they might come in for me. When they did, there was no-one else I would consider.'

Good little signing you've got there, adds yet more depth to your seemingly continually impressive squad. Luton were after him a while back I seem to remember, couldn't afford him though!

@Seemingly continually impressive' - maybe... but still a little short on firepower. 3 isnt enough strikers and SB knows that. We started with that last season and look where it got us!! I'm hoping Danns is as good as he's lauded to be........
