Birmingham City today got the work permit so that Radhi Jaidi could be available for selection for tomorrows big kick off.
However Steve Bruce has confirmed that the 30-year-old Tunisian defender won't be involved against Colchester United.
Bruce said: 'It would be wrong for me to include Jaidi even though he has got his work permit through because yesterday was his first day of training since playing in the World Cup for Tunisia. He could possibly be involved against Sunderland but we will look at him physically.'
Adding: 'Of course we would like him on Wednesday but the season lasts for ten months, 46 games, so the last thing I want to be doing is bring him in when he's not ready.'
