Former Blue nose 'striker' Emile Heskey has told Colin Tattum of the Birmingham Mail that he expects Birmingham City to bounce straight back up to the Premiership.
The striker, who moved to Wigan this summer, says everyone at Blues have learnt the lessons from the mistakes made last season and believes we can now 'kick on' adding 'What they're doing now is the right way to go about things but it's probably two years too late, to be honest, which is a shame.'
It seems he is yet another player to say the training wasn't tough enough, 'They've got a tough new fitness coach in, they are looking to players who can get about the park and are quick. Birmingham have got lads who will pass it and move and all that.'
On a positive note he says Blues should be 'ok' adding 'In fact, I do expect to be playing Birmingham the following season - in the Premiership.'
Lesson learnt indeed, get a striker who can score more than three goals in a season!
