Baggies Want Foster On Permanent Deal

If Birmingham City are not promoted back to the Premier League at the end of this season then West Brom are going to make an attempt to sign goalkeeper Ben Foster on a permanent deal.

Foster is currently on loan to the Baggies while their keeper Boaz Myhill came to St Andrews in a deal that was struck at the start of the season.

A year was the original amount of time that both players would be at each other`s club, with Blues hoping to have gained promotion back to the top flight by then.

But if not, Dan Ashworth who is the clubs technical director will step in to get the keeper.

He told the Birmingham Mail: 'The deal with Birmingham is that if they get promoted there is no availability to buy, so if they go up Ben will definitely be going back.

'When we did the deal in the summer we said it wouldn't be considered if they got promoted or we got relegated, so if we're in the same division next season then that will be the case.

'If we're not, we would need, and will take, a goalkeeper. Ben has come in and done really well and we would have to consider.'
