Blues Europa Dream Comes To An End

Birmingham City said farewell to the Europa League last night despite pulling off a 1-0 win over Maribor.

Adam Rooney came up with the only goal of the game but to no avail as Club Brugge and Braga both progressed to the knock out stage of the competition.

Rooney`s first half header was his first for the club for the club for four months was set up by another star in the making, Nathan Redmond.

He gave the visitors a torrid time down the right and it was one of his brilliant crosses that Rooney got his head to.

But now Blues can concentrate on trying for promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
