Zigic Strikes Late To Give Birmingham The Points

Nikola Zigic grabbed a brace of goals for Blues against Ipswich, one early, one late and that was enough to get Birmingham the points.

The Serbian decided the game in the 91st minute from close range to give Blues a 2-1win, at the same time giving the club`s play-off hopes a major boost.

The game looked like heading for a draw until Zigic struck late on, he had given Birmingham the lead with a header on nine minutes, but Ipswich struck back just ten minutes later through Lee Martin who had a good run at goal before unleashing a shot from 20 yards to put the visitors back in the game.

Great win, just what we needed. We should be beating teams like ipswich.
